Diskussionsrunde zu Migration und Trauma / Trauma in the Context of global migration
Geflüchtete und Migrant*innen werden in den Medien häufig als traumatisierte Massen dargestellt. Das weckt zwar Mitgefühl und Hilfsbereitschaft, aber wird dieses Bild den einzelnen Menschen und ihren Geschichten überhaupt gerecht? „Trauma in the Context of Global Migration – Opening up an Analytical Field“ heißt eine international besetzte öffentliche Diskussionsrunde, zu der die Universität Göttingen einlädt. Sie findet am Donnerstag, 4. März 2021, ab 19 Uhr statt und wird via Zoom übertragen. Die Veranstaltung ist englischsprachig, wird jedoch simultan auf Deutsch übersetzt. Sie richtet sich an alle Interessierten, insbesondere an diejenigen, die sich in der Arbeit mit Geflüchteten und Migrant*innen engagieren.

Refugees and migrants are often portrayed in the media as traumatized masses. This arouses sympathy and readiness to help, but does this image do justice to the individual people and their stories? „Trauma in the Context of Global Migration – Opening up an Analytical Field“ is the title of a public round table with international experts. It will take place on Thursday, 4 March 2021, starting at 7 p.m., and will be broadcast via Zoom. The event is in English, but will be simultaneously translated into German. It is open for all interested parties, especially those involved in working with refugees and migrants.
