Studentenwerk nimmt Mensabetrieb wieder auf / Studentenwerk resumes its cafeteria services
Zentralmensa, Café Central und coffeebar ins grüne öffnen am 22. Juni 2020
Ab Montag, 22. Juni werden auf dem Göttinger Zentralcampus die Zentralmensa sowie das Café Central wieder geöffnet sein. Zeitgleich öffnet auf dem Nordcampus die coffeebar ins grüne. Das Studentenwerk als Betreiber von insgesamt vier Mensen und zehn Caféterien hatte bedingt durch die Corona-Pandemie am 18. März alle gastronomischen Einrichtungen schließen müssen.
„Wir freuen uns sehr auf ein Wiedersehen mit alten und neuen Gästen“, blickt Prof. Dr. Jörg Magull, Geschäftsführer des Studentenwerks, gespannt nach vorn.
In allen drei Einrichtungen gelten spezielle Hygienekonzepte. Das Tragen eines Mund-Nasen-Schutzes bis zum Erreichen des Sitzplatzes und bei dessen Verlassen ist Pflicht, ein Besucherausweis muss ausgefüllt werden.
Das Einhalten des Abstands beim Essen wird mittels roter Tischmarkierungen sichergestellt und ist für die Gäste vorgegeben. Das direkte Zusammensitzen am Tisch ist nicht erlaubt. Eine Ausnahme wird nur für Eltern mit Kind gemacht. Durch die Abstandsvorgaben verringern sich die 1.710 Sitzplätze der Zentralmensa auf 290 Plätze. Die Sitzplatzreduzierung betrifft auch die beiden wiedereröffneten Caféterien.
Ein Tablett mit Besteck, Serviette und Tagesdessert wird dem Gast durch das Mensa-Personal angereicht. Bezahlt wird ausschließlich bargeldlos mit dem Studierendenausweis oder per Gästekarte, die an der Infobox erhältlich ist. Ausweis und Gästekarte können nur per EC-Karte mit Guthaben aufgeladen werden.
Plexiglas sorgt für den erforderlichen Abstand zwischen Ausgabe- oder Kassenpersonal und den Gästen. Auch die Beschäftigten werden mit einem Mindestabstand von 1,5 Metern zueinander arbeiten. Alle Oberflächen in den Speisesälen und Gasträumen werden regelmäßig gereinigt und desinfiziert.
Das Speiseangebot wird in allen drei Einrichtungen reduziert sein. In der Zentralmensa gibt es täglich zwei verschiedene Gerichte. Im Café Central und in der coffeebar ins grüne dürfen sich Gäste auf belegte Brötchen, Kuchen, Eis und ein vielfältiges, kalt-heißes Getränkesortiment freuen.

From Monday 22 June, the Central Mensa and the Café Central on the Göttingen Central Campus will reopen once more. At the same time, the Coffeebar ins Grüne on the North Campus will reopen. The Studentenwerk, which runs in total four refectories and ten cafeterias, had to close all its catering facilities on 18 March due to the coronavirus pandemic. „We are very much looking forward to seeing old and new guests again,“ says Professor Jörg Magull, Managing Director of the Studentenwerk, looking forward with anticipation.
Special hygiene regulations apply in all three facilities. Wearing a facemask until you reach your seat and when you leave is mandatory and a visitor’s pass must be filled in.
Keeping the appropriate distance during the meal is ensured by red table markings and is specified for the guests. It is not permitted to sit directly together at the table. An exception is only made for parents with children. Due to the distancing requirements, the 1,710 seats in the central canteen will be reduced to 290 seats. The reduction in seating capacity also affects the two reopened cafeterias.
A tray with cutlery, napkin and the dessert of the day is handed to each guest by the cafeteria staff. Only contactless payment can be made using the student ID/chip card or with a visitors’ pass, which is available at the Infobox. ID card and visitors’ pass can only be loaded up with credit using an EC card.
Plexiglas dividers ensure the necessary distance between the checkout staff and visitors. Employees will also work with a minimum distance of 1.5 metres between each other. All surfaces in the dining rooms and guest rooms are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
The choice of dishes will be reduced in all three facilities. In the central canteen there are two different dishes every day. In the Café Central and in the Coffeebar ins Grüne, guests can look forward to sandwiches, cakes, ice cream and a wide range of cold and hot beverages.
