CampusPost: Dritter Europäischer Tag der Restaurierung / Third European Day of Conservation-Restoration
Am 11. Oktober 2020 findet der 3. Europäische Tag der Restaurierung statt. Restaurator*innen spielen eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Erhaltung ganz unterschiedlicher Kulturgüter. Sie dokumentieren Schäden, untersuchen historische Materialien und Herstellungstechniken und sorgen für eine angemessene Aufbewahrung, um sicherzustellen, dass unser wertvolles Kulturgut auch für zukünftige Generationen zugänglich ist. In unserem Blog CampusPost porträtieren wir die Restauratorin Jorun Ruppel, die am archäologischen Institut der Universität Göttingen für die Sammlungen zuständig ist – also für rund 2.000 Objekte von der Keramikschale bis zur Gipsstatue. The third European Day of Conservation-Restoration will take place on 11 October 2020. Restorers and conservators play a key role in the conservation of a wide range of cultural assets. They document damage, examine historical materials and production techniques and ensure that our valuable cultural heritage is properly preserved to make sure that it will be accessible to future generations.
