Mit einem Vortrag aus der Entwicklungsökonomie richtet die virtuelle Ringvorlesung an der Universität Göttingen in der kommenden Woche den Blick auf das weltweite Pandemiegeschehen. Prof. Dr. Sebastian Vollmer, Direktor des Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) und Professor für Entwicklungsökonomik mit dem Schwerpunkt Südasien an der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät, spricht über die Auswirkungen der Pandemie auf Entwicklungsländer. Gerade die aktuell sehr dynamische Entwicklung des Infektionsgeschehens in Indien und die in weiten Teilen unklare Situation in Afrika werfen viele Fragen auf.

Next week, the virtual lecture series at the University of Göttingen focuses on the worldwide dynamics of the pandemic with a lecture on development economics. Professor Sebastian Vollmer, Director of the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) and Professor of Development Economics with a focus on South Asia at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, will speak about the impact of the pandemic on developing countries. Especially the current very dynamic development of the infection in India and the largely unclear situation in Africa raise many questions.
