10m2-Regel in Arbeitsstätten sowie Hörsälen und Seminarräumen weiterhin gültig / 10m2 rule still valid in workplaces as well as lecture halls and seminar rooms

In the last few days, there have been more and more enquiries about the whether the 10m2 rule still applies in lecture halls and seminar rooms. According to the occupational health and safety regulations that apply nationwide, 10m2 per person must be provided in rooms that are used by several people at the same time. This rule does not depend on the University’s 3-level system, nor is it at the University’s discretion. As things currently stand, this rule applies at least until 30 June 2021.
The Zentrale Raumvergabe (central room booking service) has provided a complete and downloadable list of all centrally administered teaching rooms and the current maximum number of occupants on the staff portal. Access is for staff members of the University only:
