Das Team der Sonderausstellung „saujana membumi – Nachhaltigkeit erkunden“ ist am 29. August 2022 im ruruHaus der documenta fifteen zu Gast. Von 14 bis 19 Uhr werden die vielfältigen Facetten des Kooperationsprojekts von Forum Wissen der Universität Göttingen, dem Sonderforschungsbereich EFForTS und der documenta fifteen präsentiert.
Bei der Ausstellung „saujana membumi“ geht es um die Folgen der Umwandlung von tropischen Regenwäldern in Ölpalmenplantagen in Indonesien und um die Frage, wie sich Umweltschutz und die Bedürfnisse der lokalen Bevölkerung so in Einklang bringen lassen, dass sie Nachhaltigkeit fördern. Die Besucher*innen im ruruHaus können die Hintergründe des Projekts und die Perspektiven aus Wissenschaft und Kunst in vielfältiger Weise kennenlernen – in Workshops und einem Vortrag. Darüber hinaus geht es im Rahmen einer Podiumsdiskussion um die Frage, welche unterschiedlichen Perspektiven Wissenschaft und Kunst zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit eröffnen, wie diese sich ergänzen und gegenseitig befruchten können.
Die Veranstaltungen finden teils in englischer, teils in deutscher Sprache statt. Für den Eintritt ins ruruHaus, Obere Königsstraße 43, Kassel, wird ein documenta-Ticket benötigt.
The team that created the special exhibition „saujana membumi – exploring sustainability“ will be guests at the ruruHaus at documenta fifteen on Monday 29 August. From 14:00 to 19:00, there will be an opportunity to discover the many facets of the collaborative project between Forum Wissen – the knowledge museum of the University of Göttingen – the Collaborative Research Centre EFForTS, and documenta fifteen.
The exhibition „saujana membumi“ is about the consequences of the conversion of tropical rainforests into oil palm plantations in Indonesia and the question of how environmental protection and the needs of the local population can be reconciled in a way that promotes sustainability. Visitors to the ruruHaus can learn about the background of the project, understanding the perspectives from science and from art via workshops and a lecture. In addition, a panel discussion will address the question of what the different perspectives of science and art reveal about the theme of sustainability, and how these can complement and mutually enrich each other.
The events will be held partly in English and partly in German. A documenta ticket is required for admission to the ruruHaus, Obere Königsstraße 43, Kassel.
