Konferenz / Conference „The Impact of Digitisation on Internationalisation“
Alle reden vom digitalen Schub durch die Pandemie – lassen sich unsere neu gewonnenen Fähigkeiten auch für den internationalen Austausch nutzen?
Student*innen, Wissenschaftler*innen und alle anderen Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen zur digitalen Konferenz „The Impact of Digitisation on Internationalisation“ mit Expert*innen aus Hochschulen in ganz Europa. Die zweitägige Veranstaltung beginnt am Dienstag, 23. März 2021, um 12 Uhr. Ausrichter sind die Universitäten Göttingen und Tartu als Mitglieder der Europäischen Hochschulallianz ENLIGHT.
Workshops und Panels befassen sich unter anderem mit Open Data in Wissenschaft und Lehre, Potenzialen und Perspektiven künstlicher Intelligenz oder mit Smart Cities. Weitere Veranstaltungen beleuchten die Erfahrungen Studierender beim digitalen Lernen oder bieten eine Auseinandersetzung mit den digitalen Filterblasen, in denen wir tagtäglich unterwegs sind. Zu den Referent*innen gehören Sophia Eriksson Waterschoot, Direktorin für Jugend, Bildung und Erasmus+ bei der Europäischen Kommission, der ehemalige estnische Staatspräsident Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Anja Türkan, Social-Media-Beraterin der Präsidentin der Europäischen Kommission Ursula von der Leyen, der Niedersächsische Minister für Wissenschaft und Kultur Björn Thümler und Joybrato Mukherjee, Präsident des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD).

Everyone is talking about the digital boost caused by the pandemic – can our newly acquired skills also be used to benefit international exchange?
Together, the Universities of Goettingen and Tartu are holding a virtual conference on the impact of digitisation on internationalisation on 23-24 March 2021 within the framework of the European University ENLIGHT, bringing together the relevant stakeholders from higher education experts and policy makers to internationalisation practitioners to academics and students.
Students, scientists and everyone interested is warmly invited to our online conference „The Impact of Digitisation on Internationalisation“ with experts from universities all over Europe.
The conference features panel discussions, expert lectures and workshops. Among the speakers are Sophia Eriksson Waterschoot, Director for Youth, Education and Erasmus+ at the European Comission, the former Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Anja Türkan, Social Media Advisor for President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the Minister for Science and Culture of the State of Lower Saxony Björn Thümler and Joybrato Mukherjee, President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
If you are interested, listen to what our invited experts have to say by joining for the keynote or one of the expert panels or get involved by participating in one of the many workshop sessions on topics ranging from the importance of digital competences among students and teachers for the internationalisation of higher education, opportunities for research and development to challenges and perspectives of the digitisation strategy of ENLIGHT. Workshops and panels will deal with topics such as open data in science and teaching, the potential and prospects of artificial intelligence and smart cities.
The conference is the official opening event of the Saksa Kevad, the German Spring in Estonia. With this annual festival, the German Embassy and the Goethe Institute in Estonia are celebrating German-Estonia relationships. In 2021 state of Lower Saxony is the official partner and the conference is supported by the Lower Saxon Ministry of Science and Culture.
The workshops will be held mainly English. Participation is free of charge.
