Empfehlungen für die Prüfungsphase im Wintersemester / Recommendations on the conduct of examinations in the winter semester
Die virtuelle AG für Studium, Lehre und Prüfungswesen empfiehlt vor dem Hintergrund einer Abwägung zwischen den Interessen des Gesundheitsschutzes angesichts der aktuellen Pandemie-Entwicklung sowie der berechtigten Interessen der Studierenden und in der Lehre Tätigen nach Planungssicherheit und Vermeidung von Belastungsspitzen in Prüfungsvorbereitung und -durchführung für den anstehenden Prüfungszeitraum des Wintersemesters 2020/21:
- Es sollen so wenige Prüfungen wie möglich und nötig in Präsenz durchgeführt werden. Die Universität kann angesichts der aktuellen Pandemie-Lage kein Interesse daran haben, ihre Studierenden, Beschäftigten und Lehrbeauftragten zu verstärkter Reiseaktivität anzuhalten. Präsenzprüfungen sind daher auf absolut unumgängliche Fälle zu beschränken; die Krisenstabsleitung bewilligt nur in begründeten Einzelfällen entsprechende Ausnahmen.
- Die den Studierenden bereits kommunizierten Prüfungstermine sollen, soweit wie möglich, eingehalten werden. Die Fakultäten bzw. Einrichtungen sollten möglichst wenige Verwerfungen im Prüfungsbetrieb zulassen und vermeiden, dass Studierende ihre bereits begonnenen Prüfungsvorbereitungen verlegen und ggf. parallel zum Semesterbetrieb des Folgesemesters wiederaufnehmen müssen. Wo möglich, sollte auf Prüfungen im virtuellen Raum oder alternative Formate (im Rahmen des § 22a APO) ausgewichen werden, um Belastungen auf Studierenden- und Lehrendenseite ähnlich dem SoSe 2020 möglichst zu vermeiden. Hierbei ist zu berücksichtigen, dass auch die Umstellung der Prüfungen auf digitale Prüfungsformate mit zusätzlicher Arbeitsbelastung bei den Prüfenden und insb. den Wissenschaftliche*n Mitarbeiter*innen und Lehrbeauftragten verbunden ist.
- Die konkreten Prüfungsbedingungen sollen allen Prüfungsteilnehmenden spätestens 14 Tage vor dem Prüfungstermin bekannt gegeben werden. Alle prüfungsverantwortlichen Einrichtungen sollen sicherstellen, ihre Planungen hinreichend frühzeitig zu konkretisieren und den betroffenen Studierenden bekannt zu machen.

Statement from the virtual AG für Studium, Lehre und Prüfungswesen
(working group for student and academic services and examinations)on the conduct of examinations in the winter semester 2020/21
The virtual AG für Studium, Lehre und Prüfungswesen recommends, having taken into account the importance of protecting health bearing in mind the current pandemic, and the justifiable concerns of students and teaching staff in planning for safety and avoiding peaks in their workloads for preparations and carrying out examinations – for the upcoming examination period of the 2020/21 winter semester:
- The number of examinations conducted in person should be limited to the absolute minimum. Bearing in mind the current pandemic, the University cannot have an interest in encouraging its students, employees and lecturers to increase the amount of travelling they do. Therefore, examinations in person are to be limited to those that are absolutely unavoidable; the Krisenstab (crisis management team) will only grant exceptions in individual cases that are clearly justified.
- The examination dates, which have already been communicated to the students, should be adhered to as far as possible. The faculties or institutions should allow as few disruptions as possible to the examination schedule. This is to avoid students having to postpone examination preparations that have already begun, which could in turn lead to students having to resume them in parallel with the schedule of the following semester. Where possible, examinations in a virtual space or alternative formats (within the framework of § 22a APO) should be used in order to avoid additional work for students and teachers as in SoSe 2020. It should be taken into account that the conversion of examinations to digital formats is also associated with an additional workload for examiners, especially academic staff and teaching assistants.
- The specific examination conditions should be made known to all examination candidates at least 14 days before the examination date. All institutions responsible for examinations should ensure that their plans are specified sufficiently early and made known to the students concerned.
The Senate and the Presidential Board of the University of Göttingen have approved the recommendations made in the German version.
